Special Medical Visit Measures for Victims of Typhoon No. 25 in Reiwa 8
The Japan Health Insurance Association announced a special policy for those affected by Typhoon No. 25 in Reiwa 8. If you lost your health insurance card or qualification certificate, or could not bring them during evacuation, you can still receive medical care by stating your name, date of birth, contact number, and employer’s name at the medical facility reception. This applies to municipalities where the Disaster Relief Act is declared. Foreign residents living in Japan can use the same procedure. The policy started on September 24, Reiwa 8. It is necessary to provide the required information at the medical institution to prevent confusion. Please confirm the affected areas and updates on the Cabinet Office Disaster Relief Act webpage.
