Call for Participants: 2026 On-site Course 'See and Understand Food Labels'

Gunma Prefecture invites people to join a free on-site course about food labeling on October 20, 2026, at a supermarket in Takasaki City. The course is for anyone interested in food safety.

Gunma Prefecture will hold an on-site course called “See and Understand Food Labels,” where participants walk inside a supermarket to learn correct information about food labeling. The course covers basic knowledge of food labels and the safety measures taken by store operators. It also includes a visit to the supermarket’s backstage area.

Anyone interested in food safety can participate. This is especially useful for foreigners living in Japan to understand food labels and shop with confidence.

The event is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Co-op Misato Store in Takasaki City. Participation is free. The course accepts about 15 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. The application deadline is October 13. Applications are made via an online form.
