Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs Supports Local Startups Expanding Overseas

The Ministry selected six companies in the 2026 secondary call for local startup projects. This program helps regional startups expand their digital technology overseas.

From July 10 to 31, 2026, Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted a second public call for applications under the program for supporting secure and reliable digital infrastructure overseas. Six proposals were selected to receive support. This initiative aims to help local Japanese startups use their digital technology abroad and boost regional economies. For foreigners living in Japan, this means more opportunities for improved digital services and regional growth as these startups expand internationally.
