Saga Prefecture Launches Subsidy Program for Plastic Alternative Products
On September 1, 2026, Saga Prefecture announced a subsidy program for stores and businesses that switch from plastic products to plastic alternatives. The program supports efforts to reduce plastic waste and promote environmental protection. Eligible applicants must be members of “Team Plusma Saga,” registered within Saga Prefecture. The subsidy covers up to half of the purchase cost of plastic alternative products, with a maximum of 100,000 yen per store or business, and up to three locations can apply. The deadline to apply is October 30, 2026, but the program may end earlier if the budget runs out. Foreign residents living in Japan who operate businesses in Saga may also qualify. Applicants need to join “Team Plusma Saga” first. For more information and application documents, please check Saga Prefecture’s official website.
