Fukushima Prefecture Launches Support Program for Multigenerational Living
Fukushima Prefecture has introduced a new subsidy program to promote multigenerational living and close-living arrangements. The program targets families with children under 18 years old, providing financial support for acquiring or improving housing to support multigenerational living.
Applicants must start living together or near each other within Fukushima Prefecture from April 1, 2026, and continue this living arrangement for at least three years. Application requires submitting an entry sheet within the designated periods. The second round is open from September 16 to October 8, 2026, and if there are many applicants, a lottery will be held on October 15.
Foreign residents living in Japan can apply if they meet all the conditions, including owning suitable housing and meeting the multigenerational living criteria. It is important to check the official Fukushima Prefecture resources for complete details and procedures.
