Okayama Prefecture Launches Self-Propelled Mower Rental Support Program

September 9, 2026
Starting in 2026, Okayama Prefecture provides free rental of self-propelled mowers to adopt groups. Users are required to follow safety checks before and after use.

Okayama Prefecture has announced a program running from May 1 to November 30, 2026, to lend out four self-propelled mowers free of charge to certified adopt groups for river and environmental maintenance. The machines can be used daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., including weekends and holidays, though some days may be unavailable due to maintenance.

Groups eligible for rental are those officially recognized by the prefecture. Applicants must attend an operation briefing unless exempt due to recent past attendance. Fuel must be supplied by the users themselves.

Users must inspect the mower carefully before and after operation and avoid risky conditions such as steep slopes or muddy terrain to prevent accidents. In case of malfunction or accident, users should stop using the machine immediately and report to the rental contractor.

Applications are accepted monthly within fixed periods and when demand exceeds supply, lenders are selected by lottery. Rental decisions are published on the prefecture's official website. Questions and applications are handled by the Okayama River Department.

Please confirm all details through official channels and follow safety guidelines to contribute to environmental care activities safely.
