New Tuberculosis Screening for Entry

Long-term residents from the Philippines, Nepal, and Vietnam now require TB screening before entering Japan.
A new tuberculosis screening policy has been announced for those planning to reside long-term in Japan from the Philippines, Nepal, and Vietnam. This requires proof of non-tuberculosis infection. The requirement starts on June 23, 2025, for the Philippines and Nepal and on September 1, 2025, for Vietnam. More details can be found on the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's special site.
