Types of Permission to Engage in Activity Outside of Status

January 1, 2026
There are two types of permission to engage in activity outside of your residence status: Blanket Permission and Individual Permission. Each type has different requirements and conditions. Read on to learn more about both.

1. **Blanket Permission**: This permission is required when you work within 28 hours per week (within 8 hours per day during long school vacations). If your working hours are clearly stated in your employment contract, you can work with this permission.

2. **Individual Permission**: This is required for activities that fall outside the scope of Blanket Permission. Specific activities such as internships or business startup preparation require individual permission. You will be asked to submit documents that explain in detail the nature of the activity and your working hours.
