Second Call for Local Governments to Receive Support for Regional DX/AX Planning

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications is running a project called the Regional Society DX Promotion Package. As part of this, local governments and related organizations can receive expert support to create plans that use digital technologies and AI to address local challenges. This support helps local governments by having specialists work closely with them to identify issues and develop implementation strategies.

This initiative aims to improve regional communities and economic activities, which may benefit all residents, including foreign nationals living in Japan.

Eligible applicants include local governments and nonprofits or corporations established by them. However, entities with a financial strength index above a certain level are not eligible. Applications must be submitted by email between September 7 and October 2, 2026.

The expert support will last about five months, from October 2026 to around February 2027. For complete details and official guidance, applicants should refer directly to the Ministry’s official announcements.
