Procedure for Change or Renewal Within Stay Period

The Immigration Services Agency of Japan has issued guidance on procedures for foreigners who wish to change or renew their residence card status within their stay period. It is advisable to perform these procedures before the stay period ends to avoid issues with My Number Card validity or banking transactions. Applications should be submitted between three months and 45 days before the expiration of the residence period.
