Miyazaki Prefecture's Support System for Natural Disaster Victims

On September 18, 2026, Miyazaki Prefecture announced its support system for those harmed by natural disasters such as typhoons, heavy rain, floods, earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions. The support includes condolence payments for victims who lost relatives, compensations for severe disabilities caused by disasters, and living reconstruction support for damaged homes.

Foreign residents living in Miyazaki at the time of the disaster can also use these support systems. The assistance amount depends on the level of damage, such as completely or partially destroyed homes.

Applications for basic support payments must be made within 13 months of the disaster date, and additional payments within 37 months. Applications should be submitted to the local municipality where the person lived when the disaster occurred. It is important to check household and residency records carefully when applying.
