Updates on Gunma Prefecture's Scholarship Program

Gunma Prefecture has expanded its scholarship eligibility to households with an annual income of up to approximately 4.9 million yen.

Gunma Prefecture has updated its scholarship program for high school students, effective from the 2026 school year, to include households with a gross income of up to around 4.9 million yen (less than 182,500 yen in prefectural and municipal income tax). This scholarship supports educational costs other than tuition fees and does not require repayment. Foreign residents who meet these criteria are also eligible.
