Yamaguchi Prefecture will hold a cultural event called 'Understanding the Art Village' from September 19 to 23 at Akiyoshidai International Art Village. The event is free and open to foreigners living in Japan.

Yamaguchi Prefecture announced a cultural event at Akiyoshidai International Art Village from September 19 to 23, 2026. The event will include a restored display of the opera "Prometeo," which was first performed in Japan in this venue designed by architect Arata Isozaki. The hall was built to create the best environment to listen to this opera. The exhibition will recreate the unique space from the opening period based on original materials. On September 19 and 20, special related events such as concerts and a keynote lecture by architect Shigeru Hirabayashi will take place. Admission is free.
