Advance Payment of Local Tax Due to Heavy Rain Disaster from August 27, 2026

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications announced that due to heavy rain disasters beginning on August 27, 2026, affected local governments will receive a portion of their regular local allocation tax payment earlier than the usual November schedule. This is to help municipalities recover quickly from damages. Foreign residents living in affected areas might see changes in local services or recovery efforts. This advance payment is effective from August 27, 2026. Residents do not need to apply or take special procedures.
