On October 7, 1579, Oda Nobukatsu's invasion of Iga Province ended in defeat, and in 1888 the Meiji Palace in Miyagi (now the Imperial Palace) was completed. These events represent the turbulent Sengoku period and the modernization of Japan during the Meiji era.

Oda Nobukatsu's Invasion of Iga Province (1579) On October 7, 1579 (Tensho 6), Oda Nobukatsu launched a military attack on Iga Province but was repelled by local forces. Known as the First Tensho Iga War, this event highlights the resistance of local powers during Japan's Sengoku period. Completion of the Meiji Palace in Miyagi (1888) In 1888, the Meiji Palace was completed in Miyagi, the site of today’s Imperial Palace.
