Changes in Residency Qualifications for Business Management in Japan

Japan has revised the residency qualifications for foreign business managers.
The residency qualifications for foreign nationals engaging in business management activities in Japan have been revised. The new requirements include hiring at least one full-time employee and having a capital or investment amount of at least 30 million yen. Applicants or full-time employees must also have a certain level of Japanese language proficiency. These changes will take effect from October 16, 2025.
